Acknowledgements
We would like to acknowledge the valuable contributions of others who have contributed to the development of Mindfields:
In addition, many people gave freely of their time, ideas and input in the conceptualising of the work in Mindfields. We would like to acknowledge the following people.
A key element of the Mindfields Intervention includes the incorporation of video footage of people from various walks of life, be they high profile recording musicians, football stars, and Indigenous leaders, to people who have shared their experiences of overcoming some very adverse problems.
The following people are acknowledged for their outstanding contribution in helping model appropriate social behaviours and in providing encouragement and guidance for the young people undertaking the Mindfields Intervention:
The Mindfields Interactive Screening Tool was developed by a team of multimedia production artists from Simple X, all of whom have had invaluable input and direction in helping produce the best design possible. Simple X, a Brisbane based multimedia collective, created the seven original multimedia CDs used within the Mindfields program.
The team consisted of Michael Henderson (co-ordination and programming), Steven Rhodes (graphic art) and Paul Henderson (original music). They found the creative process rewarding and were pleased to be involved in such a worthwhile project.
The compilation and dissemination of all video footage was produced by browndog productions, which is a digital video production house from Brisbane, operating since 1996. Justin Brown, the browndog principal, is an award winning film-maker, as well as a musician and former Commerce Law Graduate. Shelley McLennan was a highly motivated addition to this team contributing a keen eye for detail and innovative and creative ideas. Shelley has worked internationally on a variety of high profile productions and was co-producer/director on this series of video footage with Justin.
Both Justin and Shelley loved the challenge of finding and filming 20 interesting and inspiring role-models for the project and getting them to bare their souls for the benefit of kids they would never even know.
If you have ideas about how you could use Mindfields more effectively in your own context, we would love the opportunity to discuss a collaborative research partnership with you.
